Artist Development Services is running a
competition to support and scout out up
and coming music talent in Western Sydney.
The live performance competition will be
held at the Central Hotel in Blacktown over
five weeks to find the most promising talent
western Sydney has to offer.
The winners will be rewarded with recording,
production and mastering packages with Artist
Development Services at Free Energy Devices
and Studios 301.
The competition will provide an opportunity
to play in a supportive atmosphere, gain
exposure and win premium studio production
prizes that can take your music and career
to the next level
Entry process -
There are limited places available. There
are serious prizes offered and we want serious
artists.
We would like artists to submit an application
form and a demo of at least one of their
songs (see contacts below).
Alternatively to sending a demo, they can
include the details of their Myspace site
in the application form.
Please note we are NOT assessing production
quality so basic home recordings will be
fine.
Artist will be notified of successful entry
and playing times by phone/email by the
31st of March. Judges decide successful
entries.

Competition prize -
1st place – Premium production package
for one song with Artist Development Services
(@ Free Energy Devices Studio).
Includes pre production, instrumentation,
tracking, mixing and mastering (mastering
@Studios 301). Valued at over $3000.
2nd and 3rd place – Each receive
a one day recording package with Artist
Development Services (@ Free Energy Devices
Studio). Valued at over $1500 each
Additional prizes – Music shop prizes
to be confirmed
Equipment requirements -
PA and microphones supplied. Must supply
own equipment
Dates and venue - Commences
5th April 2008 - 3rd May 2008. Central
Hotel Blacktown. Running over five
weeks (4x Heats, 1x Final).*Heat 1 - Sat
5th April *Heat 2 - Sat 12th April *Heat
3 - Sat 19th April *Heat 4 - Sat 26th April
*Final –
Sat 3rd May.
Starting/playing times - All
artists playing each night must arrive
before 8:30pm to register. 1st artist –
8:30pm. 2nd artist – 9:00pm. 3rd artist
– 9:30pm. 4th artist – 10:00pm.
5th artist – 10:30pm. 6th artist –
11:00pm.
Competition structure -
6 X artists per night
4 X Heats. 1 X Final
1 X artist per heat goes through to final
2 X artist wild cards over all heats go
through to final
Artists play for strictly 20 mins only (PA
fade out at 25 mins)
